DRUUMM is working with Unitarian Universalist Association and Meadville Lombard Theological School on bringing The Well, a multiracial family camp back to life this summer at Ferry Beach, Maine.
The Well: Multiracial Families Retreat, July 24-27th at Ferry Beach, in Saco, Maine
Mission:
The Well is an intentionally culturally proud, welcoming, and unapologetic gathering that centers the experiences and expressions of communities of color. As a faith formation retreat, The Well provide a rare multi-generational space for children, youth and adults of color to explore our spiritual paths, the rites of passage that bear witness to our experiences; music, sport, arts, body and food that speak to our souls, and worship and ritual that inspires all.
The Well is a refuge for individuals and families, nurturing resilience and cultural pride. This intentional space welcomes people of all ages to explore the connections between race, spirituality, and community. By focusing on the experiences of communities of color, The Well helps heal the spiritual damage caused by racism. Inclusivity is key. It’s open to everyone affected by racism. Find solace in shared experiences and cultural heritage, strengthening identities and fostering a sense of belonging.
