Into the Heart of DRUUMM Village at GA 2025: A Living Space of Faith, and Resilience

This June 19-22, as the 2025 Unitarian Universalist General Assembly unfolds in Baltimore and online, DRUUMM Village is ready to welcome you into a sacred and dynamic space crafted by and for People of Color in Unitarian Universalism. Several events are open to all, and we are grateful for the cross support from Allies for Racial Equity. More than a program of events, DRUUMM Village is a vibrant, multiplatform gathering—both physical and virtual—where faith deepens, connections strengthen, and our shared stories of resistance, resilience, and joy are honored and amplified.

Guided with visionary care by Rev. Verdis LeVar Robinson, DRUUMM’s GA Coordinator, alongside the tireless efforts of DRUUMM members, this year’s Village offers a rich and varied program designed to nurture spiritual growth and communal belonging. We also celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Black Lives in Unitarian Universalism, one of our most important partners. Whether you are attending the main UUA General Assembly or not, DRUUMM Village welcomes all POC and BIPOC friends to participate, with events that range from intimate, sacred spaces to lively public celebrations.

A Place to Belong, Reflect, and Celebrate

With a special private gathering space in the Baltimore Convention Center and a community house minutes away, DRUUMM Village is more than a venue—it’s a haven carved from the heartwood of our collective histories and dreams. Here, you will find spaces for singing meditations, watch parties for significant GA sessions, Juneteenth celebrations, Elder Remembrance Circles with Rev. Dr. Kristen Harper, and casual caucusing by race, region, and affinity groups. Virtual access via Zoom allows far-reaching participation, with live streams available exclusively through designated links, ensuring everyone can join the rhythms of our shared experience.

Whether you seek soulful music with the DRUUMM Choir “The Village Singers” led by Gabe Perbieri deep dialogue on intersectional antiracism with Atena Danner, or the joyful energy of our Juneteenth House Party hosted by our President Esperanza Flores Garza and President-Elect Tomi Fatunde, the Village promises something meaningful for every heart.

Register to receive the full list of events. Free for members, $25 for BIPOC Friends.
